The Eighth Annual Youth Conference of Chinese Power Engineering Institute was held in Chongqing University

On September 13,2020, sponsored by the Chinese Society of Power Engineering, and jointly undertaken by the Youth Working Committee of the Chinese Society of Power Engineering, the Key Laboratory of Low-grade Energy Utilization Technology and Systems of the Ministry of Education of Chongqing University, and the School of Energy and Power Engineering of Chongqing University The 8th Annual Youth Academic Conference of the Society was held in our school.

The opening ceremony of the conference was held in the morning of the 13th in the 4th floor of the multifunctional Ke Yuan Days Hotel. Ruijin Liao， Vice President of Chongqing University, Shulin Liao，Vice President and Secretary General of the Chinese Power Engineering Society, and Jun Li，Chairman of the Eighth Annual Youth Conference of the Chinese Power Engineering Society, delivered speeches respectively. The meeting also commended the winners of the 2nd China Power Engineering Society Youth Science and Technology Award, and held the inauguration ceremony of the first China Power Engineering Society Youth Working Committee, and issued certificates to the first Youth Working Committee members of the Society.

In order to cooperate with the epidemic prevention and control, this year's annual meeting was conducted in an online + offline mode, with a total of more than 650 online and offline attendees. The meeting was divided into three sessions, with the opening ceremony and conference report in the morning, subgroup communication in the afternoon and academic salon in the evening. The conference included 127 papers and 298 registered participants, among which 73 online reporters and 15 excellent papers were selected. The opening ceremony of the conference and the conference report were simultaneously broadcasted live on Aihui website.

The theme of this annual meeting was "Smart Energy and Advanced Power". Professor Liao Qiang of Chongqing University, Professor Yan Junjie of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Professor Zheng Chenghang of Zhejiang University, and Director Gong Xiufang of Dongfang Steam Turbine Co., Ltd. of Dongfang Electric Group respectively made the topic "Enhanced flow transmission and conversion in fuel cells of Microfluidics", "Efficient and flexible synergy of thermal power system of thermal power units", "Research on efficient removal of fine particulate matter in combustion flue gas" and "R&D and application of materials for key components of advanced turbine generator sets" Invited report at the conference. The wonderful conference report aroused a warm response from the experts and scholars participating in the conference.

During the discussion and exchanges held in the sub-venue on the afternoon of the 13th, the young scholars participating in the meeting focused on "clean energy utilization", "efficient power technology", "new energy and energy storage technology", "power station system flexibility research", and "multi-energy complementarity and intelligent control ". In-depth discussions were conducted on,"energy and power energy-saving technology" and "other content related to energy and power engineering", and 15 excellent papers were selected. On the evening of the 13th, the young scholars also had in-depth exchanges on "the establishment of a deep integration system of production, education and research in the field of power engineering" and discussed possible paths for the establishment of industry-university-research alliances among enterprise universities.
